One of the activities at this summer’s sports day, was the Sports Day Bake Off, where thirty students, representing each of the school’s houses, competed to bake the best confection of the day. Under the watchful eye of the Food Technology team, the students were challenged to design a cake with either a sporting theme or one that represented their individual house.

Working together in teams, pupils learned how to ice a cake before devising the design. They then had to bake the basic cake, before shaping and icing it. The energy and camaraderie in the kitchen was inspirational as the students demonstrated their skills and artistry. Participants cheered and celebrated each other’s efforts, which was a true testament to the kindness our pupils possess.

The final creations were judged, by house, and the winning order was:

First – Griffin, second - Pegasus, third - Unicorn, fourth – Phoenix and fifth – Centaur.

The event was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talent and enthusiasm of our students – alert to Bake Off, Campion’s young chefs are definitely the ones to watch.
