This spring, while most of us are still reaching for an extra layer or two, Miss West, PE/HSE/Children Looked After Teacher, will be training for an extraordinary challenge: running the London Marathon. Every mile she runs will be in support of Action for Children, a charity whose work closely reflects one of her roles at Campion and the values she brings to school every day.
In her work here, Miss West supports children who are in care, or who have previously been in care, helping them to feel safe, understood and confident in themselves. She works tirelessly to ensure that these students feel supported and able to thrive, whatever challenges they may have faced in the past. It is this same belief in opportunity, care and advocacy that lies at the heart of Action for Children’s mission. On a national scale, the charity provides early help, emotional and mental-health support, stable care and a strong voice for vulnerable children — giving them the chance to build brighter futures.
Inspired by this cause, Miss West is organising several events, filled with fun, friendly competition and plenty of cake…., which will include:
• Monday, 23rd March 2026 – A male vs female staff netball match at lunchtime, followed by a staff vs students match after school
• Wednesday, 25th March 2026 – A cake sale in A Block
• Friday, 27th March 2026 – A half-day and non-uniform day, with a £1 contribution to wear non-uniform
Whether by taking part, cheering from the sidelines, baking, donating or simply showing support, every contribution will help make a real difference. Together, we can support Miss West on her marathon journey and help Action for Children continue their vital work — ensuring that every child has the opportunity to feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
Thank you for your support.
