  • Milkshake at The Milkshed

Sixth Form Geography students recently stepped out of the classroom and into the community on a mini-field trip, to the village of Harbury, as part of their Diverse Places study unit.

The visit gave students the opportunity to explore the local area first-hand, deepening their understanding of how communities develop and what makes each settlement unique. A particular highlight of the trip was a stop at the popular Harbury Milk Shed, where students enjoyed refreshing milkshakes, which are  produced locally. Described as a ‘Milk Mecca of the Midlands,’ the Milk Shed offers more than just drinks. Nestled in a picturesque village, it is a memorable and appetising destination with its selection of fresh local milk, cookies, cakes, coffee and free-range eggs, which offered our students a real taste of local produce and rural enterprise.

The trip was not only educational, but an enjoyable escape, combining geographical learning with a chance to experience one of South Warwickshire’s hidden gems. Just a reminder, though, the Milk Shed’s delicious fresh milk doesn’t last forever—so you really do have to “moo-ve” quickly to secure a fresh gulp…

Overall, the field trip was a fantastic way to bring learning to life, helping students to connect their studies to the real world in a fun and memorable way.
