  • Eco-Club work with Wild Rails

Campion Eco-Club students have been actively engaged this year in an exciting Wild Rails project.

In collaboration with the Heart of England Community Rail Partnership, students have been working hard in the school's Eco-Club. As part of their efforts to promote biodiversity and environmental sustainability, the students have been planting vibrant geraniums at the base of the bug hotel, which is set to be installed at Leamington train station this summer. This initiative aims to create a welcoming habitat for pollinators and beneficial insects, enriching the local ecosystem and supporting the health of our gardens.

The bug hotel, currently residing in its temporary home within the school's Conservation Area, is a vital feature designed to provide shelter for insects such as bees, ladybirds, and solitary bees, contributing to the wider ecological balance. The students' hands-on work not only helps enhance biodiversity but also raises awareness about the importance of pollinators and sustainable urban greening.

We encourage visitors to keep an eye out for the bug hotel at Leamington station this summer and to appreciate the efforts of our Eco-Club students in making our community greener and more environmentally friendly. Their dedication exemplifies how youth involvement can make a meaningful difference in environmental conservation.
