  • Welcome to the Library

At Campion School, reading is at the heart of school life. We are committed to fostering a love of reading and promoting literacy across the entire school community.

Located in the centre of the school, our Learning Resource Centre is a vibrant and welcoming space designed to encourage reading for pleasure while supporting students’ learning and literacy development. The library houses around 6,000 resources, including fiction for all interests, ages and abilities, alongside non-fiction books, study guides and graphic novels.

Students also have access to chess boards, Rubik's cubes, a stationery shop, computers with internet access and a colour printer/photocopier.

In addition, students can access our online library, ePlatform, which offers a wide selection of eBooks and audiobooks.

The Library runs a termly reading competition to encourage students to read more and celebrate a love of reading across the school. Students can earn merits and house points through their reading throughout the term.

At the end of each term, the house with the highest number of reading points will be awarded the prestigious Reading Trophy. In addition, one lucky reader from the winning house will be randomly selected to receive a prize.

The aim of the library is to promote reading for pleasure in order to support our pupils’ literacy development, and to provide relevant and appropriate study materials to support teaching and learning from Key Stage 3 right up to sixth form. Students are encouraged to read a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles, to help mould the library by providing feedback and suggestions, and to get involved in library displays and events.
